Expect New Medical ID Cards in the Mail Soon

To make your experience at the drug store easier, the Trust Fund has partnered with Anthem to provide a new design of your medical ID card.

Members can expect to receive their new cards in the mail during Open Enrollment. Once you receive your new card, please discard the old one.

The new ID card includes new BIN and PCN numbers to expedite prescription drug claims. The BIN number tells the computer database at the pharmacy which health insurance provider is to receive the claim for the prescription. The PCN number is a second identifier that is used for routing claims.

Also included is a new toll-free number for Pharmacy Member Services and a rebranding of “Pharmacist Questions” to “Help for Pharmacists.” These improvements will make it faster and more efficient for members and pharmacists to get the right answers.
